-Drop in to the Grad Lounge (3rd Floor, New Chancellor Day Hall Room 303) on Tuesday 28th August, Wednesday 29th August, or Thursday 30th August at any time between 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, or between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm if you are an afternoon person: there will be one or more returning graduate students to meet and greet you there, answer any question, share a coffee, etc.
-The GLSA Welcome Cocktail on Tuesday 28th August in the basement of Thomson House at 4:00 pm. We will provide some drinks and light snacks. .Thomson House is a manor dedicated to McGill graduate students, and is located across the street from the Law Faculty. Its comfortable lounge and affordable food might make it your second home on campus.
-A walking tour of campus on Thursday 30th August at 12:30 pm, to help you find your way around Old and New Chancellor Day Halls, show you the secret path to stay warm on the way to get (better) coffee in winter, etc.
-LLM Speed Meet on Thursday 30th August at 3 pm (location tbc): Come meet your new LLM classmates. We have great ways for you to get to know each one another!
–A BBQ on Monday 3rd September from 4:30 pm. It’s a little hike to get to the top, but the view is well worth it! Come discover this highlight of Montréal, and meet fellow law grad students. The picnic will happen in the grass area behind the chalet, at the very top of the mountain. A group will depart from in front of the law library, you can join them if you are unsure about the way to get there.
-The Associate Dean’s welcome lunch on Friday 31st August from 12:30 pm: after a morning full of academic information, you deserve lunch! The Associate Dean will give a welcome speech at 1 pm. You are then invited to stick around, as the GLSA will happily provide some advice on getting involved in the life of our social and academic community, preparing for winter, etc. and answer any remaining question.
-The traditional family picnic in park Lafontaine on Saturday 1st September at noon. We will meet at the corner of Rachel street and Fabre street, just by the picnic area. Feel free to bring your family, friends, or even your pet, we would love to meet them too! We will provide some light food, but recommend you bring something to share as well. We also encourage bringing a soccer ball, pétanques/boules, card games, etc. It is a family time in the park after all!
